There are few yoga settings more naturally perfect than Seminyak Beach at sunset. As the Indian Ocean turns from turquoise to deep orange-gold and the sea breeze carries the faint scent of frangipani, your body and mind settle into a depth of relaxation that indoor studios simply cannot replicate. This guided outdoor yoga session is designed to reconnect you with Bali’s natural rhythms.
Classes are held directly on the sand, with participants facing the setting sun — a naturally moving point of focus that replaces the studio wall and transforms the practice into something almost meditative. The session typically begins 90 minutes before sunset to allow time for a full practice, ending with savasana precisely as the sky transitions through its most spectacular colours.
Our experienced instructors bring years of Balinese yoga tradition to every session. The practice draws on Hatha and Vinyasa traditions, balanced with pranayama (breathwork) and guided mindfulness. Sequences are carefully calibrated for the beach setting — stable standing poses designed for sand, and grounding postures that take full advantage of the natural surface. All levels from complete beginners to advanced practitioners are warmly welcomed.
Seminyak Beach itself is one of Bali’s most beautiful — long, wide, and less crowded than Kuta, with a gentle surf that provides a constant, soothing soundtrack. The beachfront is lined with laid-back beach clubs and cafés where you can extend the evening with dinner or drinks after class, watching the stars emerge over the ocean.
Yoga mats, blocks, and straps are provided. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in freely, bring sunscreen, and arrive 10 minutes early to settle in. Mobile phones are kindly asked to be put away for the duration of class — this is genuine unplugged time.
